About FFLSearch
FFLSearch is a directory of every active federal firearms licensee in the United States, built from the ATF’s public licensee list and operated by Human+AI Ventures LLC.
What it is for
When you buy a firearm online it has to ship to a licensed dealer near you. Choosing that dealer means answering three questions — will they accept the transfer, what will they charge, and when are they open — and the second one is genuinely difficult to find out. People end up asking strangers on forums what their local shops charge.
Every other directory reprints the same federal record. FFLSearch does that too, and then asks the dealers themselves for the parts the record does not contain.
The rule we run on
A fact a customer needs in order to choose an FFL is never placed behind a payment.
Transfer fees, hours, addresses, phone numbers and capabilities are free to publish and free to read, and will stay that way. If FFLSearch ever sells anything, it sells prominence and presentation — never access to the truth about a business. A paid option can never be allowed to look like a neutral ranking, and dealer links are never followed-for-payment at any tier.
Who operates it
FFLSearch is operated by Human+AI Ventures LLC, a private company. FFLSearch does not sell firearms, does not broker transfers, and is not a party to any transaction between a customer and a dealer.
FFLSearch is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or any other government agency.
Corrections
If something on a listing is wrong, tell us through the support form. We read everything and prioritise anything that says a listing is factually incorrect. We are not going to publish a response-time promise here that we cannot keep.
ATF-published details — business name, address, licence type and number — come from the federal record. We can correct how they are displayed; the authoritative fix for the record itself is with the ATF.
